Implementation period: 2003-2005
NCSD was involved in the EU financed Programme Leonardo da Vinci, as partner in the three year project Renewable Energy Sources and Environment Management
The project was implemented by a team of 9 partners:
- Transylvania University, Brasov – Romania (as coordinator)
- Foundation for SME, Brasov – Romania
- County Council Brasov – Romania
- National Centre for Sustainable Development, Bucharest – Romania
- University of Zaragoza – Spain
- Fachhochschule Aachen Julich – Germany
- Technological Research Centre, Patras – Greece

- University of Technology, Delft - the Netherlands
- The Institute for Sustainable Energy, Delft - the Netherlands.
This project aimed to develop a dynamic, user-friendly e-Training tool that will empower the interested users to browse along the technological development in RES&EM, sensing good practice projects around the world.
In order to fulfill this aim, the following objectives are stated:
- To build up a transnational network (among partners, with the possibility of enlargement) in order to develop a frame for continuing vocational training on RES&EM.
- To develop a group with expertise (trainers and training planners) to offer services and to insure the adaptability of the beneficiaries to the needs of the (working) market.
- To develop a Material Resources Centre, as a strong training and dissemination tool, to reinforce and to develop the existing infrastructure, in all partner institutions
- To develop the components of the e-Training tool, in terms of the e-Training products and training methodology based on ICT and to ensure an integrated training system.
- To test the quality of the products by delivering to ‘’test groups’’ the required information and training skills on how to introduce and implement RES&EM into the various economic, service and production sectors.
- To evaluate the quality of the e-Training tool and of the other products, by registering the feedback of the testing activities and through external evaluation processes. A Product Evaluation Group and a Strategy and Management Evaluation Group are responsible for the internal, transparent evaluation.
- To disseminate the project outcomes and to register the echo of these activities in order to use it for the improvement of the e-Training tool.
