Regional Rio+10 Assessment Conference for Central & East European Countries

The NCSD was recognized by the Earth Council as a focal point for the Rio +10 preparatory process in the Central and Eastern European Region. Therefore, following discussions with UNDP Romania and Capacity 21 Regional Programme, Bucharest was chosen to host the Regional Rio+10 Assessment Conference.

The purpose of the Conference was to formulate and endorse two major documents for the region: CEE Recommendations for Rio+10 Earth Summit and CEE Regional Action Plan for Rio+10 Earth Summit.

The Conference was attended by representatives from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
